Member has breakthrough after New Website Event!

Thank you all so much for the amazing website and the event last night with guidance on its capabilities.

I’ve been searching for years for insight on my gggreat grandparents who were married in Delaware in 1819. A challenging timeframe to get much information.

I revisited the DGS Journal Archive last night using the search function by name and I had a breakthrough-found not only the answer to my question but a NOTE that explained a little of the situation. A death, a marriage, two babies, a divorce and a whole new marriage in Elkton!

Margaret Canby Gause Bramble

Margaret Canby Gause Bramble

Margaret passed away earlier this year on April 2, 2020. She was a long-time member of the Delaware Genealogical Society, having joined in 1985. She also was a direct descendant of Joseph Tatnall, who supplied George Washington’s troops during the Revolutionary War and hosted him at the house he built in 1770 in Wilmington. The DGS board extends our condolences to Margaret’s family. Her obituary can be found here: https://www.legacy.com/obituaries/delawareonline/obituary.aspx?pid=195901880
