DGS hosts about seven educational programs every year. Meeting materials and recorded webinars, when made available by our speakers, are generally available to DGS members only. We are making several recorded webinars and meeting materials available to everyone, so that you can experience our programs and learn more about us. See the list below.


2022 Annual Meeting

On May 21, 2022, Mike Miscoski, DGS President, summarized the accomplishments of the Delaware Genealogical Society over the past year, introduced the 2022-23 board slate, and set the stage for 2022-23. An electronic voting form was sent to members. Results will be announced over the summer of 2022.

A Tour of the NEW DGS website

Graham Godfrey, DGS board member and technology lead, takes you on a tour of the new DGS website in this special one-hour program. Designed to make DGS resources easy to use, the website offers improved navigation, introduces new research about African American Civil War Veterans from Delaware, an all-new section with Delaware Resources for Everyone, and a new Member Library.

The tour includes an overview of the entire website and membership tools, plus a deep dive into the newly published Directory of African American Veterans of the Civil War, a live demo of at the new 61,000-person name index for the DGS Journal, and other new features.

The Second World War (WWII): African American Involvement in the US Military

The New Delaware Genealogical Research Guide: A Look Between the Covers

Irene Heffran Monley and Constance Nelmes Beatty, two members of the the Delaware Genealogical Society Research Guide Committee, gave us a virtual walk-through of the new edition of the Delaware Genealogical Research Guide, showing how it is organized and its extensive, updated, user-friendly approach to Delaware resources and repositories. Presented October 2020.
