Our primary focus is on Delaware ancestry
but we also provide general educational programs

The Delaware Genealogical
Society was founded in 1977 with about 40 charter members and
now has over 450 active memberships.

DGS needs member support to accomplish our goals to
- * Serve the genealogical needs of those with Delaware ancestry
- * Serve the genealogical needs of those who live in or near Delaware
- * Produce and disseminate high quality genealogical research.
Over one-third of DGS members have E-mail addresses.

The
society is managed by a board of
governors and officers, elected by the members or appointed
per our bylaws;
but there are also many other key individuals who make it all work.

We
welcome guests to our meetings and invite anyone with an
interest in family history to join.
- Historical Society of Delaware
Delaware Genealogical Society enjoys a close association with the Historical Society
of Delaware. In addition, to sharing their library, we make regular contributions to the library's genealogical
collections.
The library is located at 505 North Market
Street, Wilmington DE 19801-3091,
and is free and open to
the public five days a week, during the following hours:
Mon 1:00 pm -8:45 pm; Tues-Fri: 9am - 5 pm.

Association of Delaware Historical Societies
