[DGS LOGO] DELAWARE TOWNS AND PLACES

[taken from the Delaware Genealogical Research Guide]

See also Delaware Hundreds

Below are listed all Delaware towns and villages with populations >100 and many, but certainly not all, of the "settlements" (places with clustered populations <100 persons found in Delaware Place Names. Dates indicate the first confirmed mention we found of the town name (see footnote), the present hundred and other names (most of which are cross-referenced). Further descriptions of these places, their exact locations and a listing of several additional place names are in Delaware Place Names(1). Post office details are found in Postal History(2). Other dates are found in Beers' Atlas(3), Gannett's Gazetteer(4) and Scharf's History of Delaware(5).
